Important to some and meaningless to others, climbing grades have long been a great source of debate to pass the time in between sessions. Recent years have seen an explosion of climbing related websites and blogs on the internet which has taken this debate to a new level. It’s easier than ever for people to share their opinions on the grades of climbs…especially ones they have no hope of ever doing (or even trying).
What Can You Say About The Grade?

Another of Dave Graham’s longstanding unrepeated testpieces sees a 2nd ascent this week.
Hard, Unrepeated American Boulders
I thought it would be interesting to compile a list of hard (V14 and up) boulder problems that have not been repeated in North America. Thanks to everyone for help in compiling these problems (Most of these grades are pure speculation from outside observers): Nuclear War – V14 – Matt Bosley – Harriman State Park, […]

Bit of News
Here is a bit of news for your Wednesday: Paul Robinson has made the 4th ascent of Ode to the Modern Man (V14) at Mt. Evans after Woods, Landman and Jorgenson. This would be Paul’s 25th problem V13 or harder in just the past 365 days. As noted yesterday, Ethan Pringle has repeated Realization and […]
News & Notes – 6/25/2007

He has called the problem Jade and suggested the grade of V15. Several cameras were rolling and you can […]
