Action Alert For North Carolina’s Chimney Rock State Park
The Access Fund has an alert on their website concerning a plan being proposed for North Carolina’s Chimney Rock State Park. The plan allows for continued climbing at established areas within the park like the bouldering at Rumbling Bald, but it places limits on the climbing allowed in many other areas. Access Secured At California’s Jailhouse, Access Fund Needs Your Help
The Access Fund has secure permanent access to Sonora, California’s Jailhouse crag thanks to the dedicated efforts of locals, cooperation with private landowners and a $100,000 loan from the Access Fund’s Land Conservation Campaign. Access Alert In Arches National Park
The Access Fund has issued an access alert for Utah’s Arches National Park in the hopes of restoring climbing opportunities there after Dean Potter’s climb of Delicate Arch in 2006 put climbers in a bad spot. Your comments are needed by August 10th. Click here for more details.
Access Fund, RRGCC Team Up To Refi Land At Red River Gorge
Fairly big access news concerning the Red River Gorge today as the Access Fund is helping the RRGCC restructure their loan on the increasingly popular Pendergrass-Murray Recreational Preserve (PMRP). The largest piece of land owned by climbers when it was purchased back in 2004, the 750 acre PMRP is home to a growing number of the Red’s best and most popular routes.
