A Month In The Red River Gorge With Enzo Oddo
News & Notes – 5/9/2012
There’s so much happening these days in the world of climbing that even I’m having a hard time keeping up…
11-Year-Old Cameron Hörst Climbing 5.13d & 5.14a In The Red River Gorge
Keeping Up With The Kids
Not long after her 10-year-old daughter Brooke redpointed the climb, Robyn Erbesfield-Raboutou also repeated God’s Own Stone (5.14a) in the Red River Gorge. Rock & Ice caught up with the almost 49-year-old young Raboutou to learn more about her continued success and what it’s like sharing projects with her kids.
Lucifer (5.14c) For Dylan Barks
In an impressive display, Dylan Barks repeated Mike Doyle’s Lucifer (5.14c) at Purgatory in the Red River Gorge today. Barks looked strong and in control throughout his send burn, and not even a wasp sting on the finger at the 2nd to last bolt could keep him from clipping the chains.

Barks, who finished 2nd at last weekend’s SCS Nationals, had previously climbed another 5.14c at the Red when he did Southern Smoke last year.
More Youth Action At The Red
DPM’s Mikey Williams is in perfect position to bring updates from the Red River Gorge seeing as he currently resides in the parking lot at Miguel’s. It’s from this convenient vantage point that he has posted updates on Enzo Oddo ticking the other 5.14d in the Red and 11-year-old Cameron Hörst repeating God’s Own Stone (5.14a).
