Both Buhrfeind and McColl were seeded #1 after Thursday night’s seeding round, and despite game challenges from the likes of Alex Puccio, Delaney Miller, Jimmy Webb, Chris Sharma and Daniel Woods, ultimately neither of them could be slowed down en route to the their respective victories.

from a pure bracketology standpoint, why did last year’s winner (webb) meet the on paper favorite (McColl) in the second round? Seems they should have met in the finals or at worst semi-finals.

The brackets were determined during a seeding round that was held Thursday night. Each climber had two attempts on the route, and the fastest of their two times was used to seed them against the other competitors. Jimmy just didn’t climb all that fast during the seeding round, which is why he was the #8 seed heading into finals.
