Video Dump Friday

One of the longest boulder problems I’ve ever seen, Fred Moix climbs Underground Paradise (V14) at Fionnay, Switzerland:

Franz Widmer opened a new V15 boulder in Switzerland last month he is calling Kryptos.  The LowDown has more background on the boulder, and now the video is here to give a better idea what the problem looks like:

For me, watching videos of climbing gear breaking is both interesting and paranoia inducing at the same time:

More gear testing vids at the American Alpine Institue blog

Will Stanhope climbed Cobra Crack the other day without a video camera present to capture the send, but Sonnie Trotter was there to capture an attempt a few days earlier (please set cell phones to vibrate while watching…):

And finally, there isn’t much that can be said to introduce this video…

I’m so turned around by that Underground Paradise vid. Where did it start? What happened? It’s like the Mulholland Drive of boulder problems.

I felt the same way. Then again, I had a hard time paying attention for the full 7 minutes.

That is not a boulder problem… thats like 56 more moves than i like to do in an ideal boulder problem… my ideal boulder problem being probably like 3 moves. Holy crap that was rediculas. can u imagine falling off the top out and having to do all of that shit again. what a terrible feeling that would be.

Do you think “Wheel of Life” is longer than “Underground Paradise”?

Day and Night? LOL. I hope it was a cig they were smoking.

    Hi God 🙂 ,

Underground Paradise is about 40 moves for me but more if you are smaller. As long as I remember from the time I was at this sick hollow mountain cave, wheel of life is even longer.. But longer stuff than U.P. is awaiting in Fionnay 😉

    All the best
