Last week Alex Honnold and Tommy Caldwell teamed up for a huge day of free climbing in Zion National Park. The pair, who last year free climbed thee huge walls in Yosemite in a day, freed Sheer Lunacy (8 pitches, 5.12b), Moonlight Buttress (10 pitches, 5.12d), Touchstone Wall (8 pitches, 5.13b), and Spaceshot (8 pitches, 5.13a) in a 16 hour effort.
On Instagram, Honnold called the day “super fun” while on Facebook Caldwell said the “great day” left his fingers pretty swollen. I can’t imagine why.

Honnold was not quite finished in Zion apparently, as Climbing reports he soloed Moonlight Buttress, Monkeyfinger (900 ft., 5.12b), and Shune’s Buttress (8 pitches, 5.11+) in a day. Honnold had previously soloed all three routes: Moonlight in 2008 and Monkeyfinger and Shune’s in 2012.
