No videos this Friday other than the ones being posted on the videos page throughout the week. Be sure to check those out.
Instead I leave you with some images of this climbing wall in the Netherlands called Excalibur. At over 120 ft. tall and overhanging some 35 ft., the wall is really an impressive site to see.

Have a great weekend everyone, no matter what/where/if you’re climbing!
Looks like a b!tch to set on, but i’d take it over my local wall any day.

I guess when your entire country is flat the incentives for making amazing plastic walls are higher. Looks awesome.

The netherlands is NOT flat.

“Hey, there’s a hold spinning.”
“Which one?”
“That red one up there.”

That wall overhangs more than the wall at my climbing gym is tall.
On an unrelated note, a new free route has gone up on El Cap and none of the climbing news sources seem to be covering it: http://elcapreport.com/content/elcap-report-102710
Well, I guess the El Cap report kinda covered it. Whaddaya say, Narc?

I would love a toprope burn on that thing. I’d climb about 10 feet up and let go. Then I’d pendulum right over and into those free standing boulders across the way.

I was a bit saddened to see no video for Friday. Like I would have to put in 8 full hours at work sad. But then Chad Greedy came through in the clutch:

Yeah, the wall is pretty cool. You can actually feel it swinging on a windy day when on top.
The Netherlands is totally flat, no rocks at all, so we have to resort to artificial solutions.
Rotterdam also has a pretty cool outside wall, monte cervino, it is shaped like miniature version of the matterhorn.

..but in the end natural rock beats all these gyms anyday

That has to be one of the coolest walls i’ve seen. Route setting would be a nightmare though.
The whole structure seems to defy gravity, I really like the concept.
