Video Friday – 1/10/2014

Back in November I made the journey back to Wisconsin to catch the premiere of a documentary made about the climbing scene at Devil’s Lake in the 70’s and 80’s called The DLFA.  Outside of being an incredible gathering and party for many in the climbing scene from today and yesteryear, the premiere was a great opportunity to take in the film and learn more about climbers and a scene I had heard stories of since I started climbing.

The film, which is both serious and funny at times, does an excellent job chronicling an important time in Wisconsin climbing history that would certainly appeal to Wisconsin climbers and is likely to appeal to others who have an appreciation for this sort of history.  The only real negative is that there is limited video footage of the historical ascents from back in the day, but that’s just the way things are I suppose.
