Last year Tommy Caldwell got a crew together to explore Keketuohai National Geological Park in the far reaches of China’s Xinjiang province, an area dubbed by some as the “Tuolumne of China”. The team filed a series of reports at the time which I chronicled here and here with the main takeaway being that the area did not disappoint. Despite the bureaucratic difficulties associated with climbing in such an area the team was able to explore and do first ascents on a handful of the area’s amazing granite domes.
As a follow-up, Patagonia has a couple of neat items on their website to show you more about Keketuohai. In addition to this video is a slideshow narrated by Caldwell himself in which he takes us through their trip. Looks amazing!
