In what seems like a final update on last week’s David Lama “news”, Colin Haley reports that Lama has decided to forgo his plans to rap bolt on Cerro Torre. Unfortunately for all climbers in the Patagonia region the weather this season has been bad even by local standards which has prevented much of anything, good or bad, from going down.

Now that Lama has changed his plans to really encompass the “Patagonian Ethic,” I’m sure there are a ton of climbers pulling for him that otherwise would have been hoping for continued bad weather.
Good luck to David and team. Would love to see the Compressor freed.

The part I find kind of odd is all this hype with a film crew and whatnot and they still have 0 idea whether or not there is a free climbable line up the thing.
