Maxim Rope Recall

New England ropes is recalling two types of their Maxim climbing ropes.  Check AllClimbing for more details and then check your ropes to make sure yours aren’t part of the recall.

    I don’t mean to plug my blog but I nearly had a catastrophic accident because of a maxim rope failure and want to say that I will never again use New England ropes. If you are interested in reading about the accident click on the link above.

    Nothing wrong with blog plugging at all. I’m glad that everything worked out Ok for you. I think it is a good reminder every once in a while that many of the safety devices we take for granted are never 100% safe.
