DVD Winner & Back From Yosemite

DVD Winner & Back From Yosemite

Before we left for our Left Coast trip I failed to mention the winner of our Free DVD competition.  The winner was Isaac and he unfortunately chose The Australia Project.  I say unfortunate because I really didn’t want to give that one up!  Nevertheless, I will get that out to you in the mail by the end of the week Isaac.

Also unfortunate is the fact that we are back from a fantastic 7 days in Yosemite.  Overall the trip was quite fun however I greatly overestimated the amount of climbing I would be able to do.   Apparently there is a big difference between climbing “off the couch” and climbing “off the surgical table”.  I would show you some pictures of the sweet Yosemite granite right now, but I was too tired to convert our RAW images last night.  Oh…and I was also too busy playing with my new iPhone.

On a climbing related note, I watched Dosage 5 last night.  Due to serious sleep deprivation I was falling asleep during it, however it was definitely a cool movie.

I’m not sure if it is my favorite Dosage ever though which surprised me a bit.

Perhaps I need to watch it again with my full faculties in tact?  Anyone else seen it yet??

Buying one’s own copy negates the need for begging…

There is definitely some cool action in the video however it is produced in a way (really professionally??) that is quite different from most climbing movies. Not sure how to explain it and not sure if I like it or not.

I have watched the movie three times now. The movie is definitely worth watching but like Narc said it’s probably not the best Dosage movie out there.

The highlight of the movie was the dose, in which Daniel Woods does the first ascent of Jade (V15). Why? The video footage just has it all… the feeling, the excitement, the drama, the music. Most of the other doses (e.g., Dose 1: The Valley) are too music video like without feeling or something to grab on.

I have to say, I think this was the best dosage yet, especially in terms of production.

The footage with Sharma on the blue and white route in his yellow shirt was fantastic. Also watching Beth Rodden do meltdown was friggin rad.
