what’s the deal with rock rodeo misrepresentations?
    Male: Robinson climbs 75 V-points, not 77.8 or 86.
Female: Angie Payne (Open 2960) gets bested by Layla Mammi (Advanced 3005). 3005 > 2960.

I understand that Robinson’s video is 86 out of 7.
I also understand the boulders for the rock rodeo are a select few in a set range for each category.

Why does Robinson have a Rock Rodeo style video (similar to Wood’s video last year) but with more points, 11 of which don’t count?

Also, why does Angie Payne get credit for “winning” the Rock Rodeo when a no-name female bested her score yet receives no attention. There should have been a headline like: “Layla Mammi comes from nowhere to beat pros Angie Payne and Nina Williams to win the 2013 Rock Rodeo”.

    I’m just saying…

It seems like you answered all your own questions.

As you noted, Robinson’s rodeo score was from six problems totaling 75 V-points. He also climbed another V11 that day, which is included in the video. That makes 86 V-points from seven problems. The Video is titled “Best Day Ever with Paul Robinson,” not “Paul Robinson’s scored problems from the rock rodeo.” I see no issue here.

As you also noted, the boulders for the rodeo consisted of a select range of problems for each category. This means that Angie Payne’s scores are not comparable to Layla Mammi’s. The Women’s boulders seemed a little too hard, and Payne was only able to complete three of the problems available to her in the open division. If she were able to pick from the problems available to Mammi in the advanced division, she likely would have been able to do some more climbs and have a higher score.
