Awesome video . . . sometimes silence is the best soundtrack for a send.
That said, on video his starting point doesn’t really look any more logical than Dave’s . . . just different.

The reason it’s “more logical” is because it’s a starting point that’s further away, most likely the farthest away possible, from the finish jug. A sit start to a problem is generally supposed to be the hardest variation of the line, starting as low as possible. It adds several moves before where Dave started, thus, it is a more proper place to establish a sit start variation to an existing line.

That’s just the thing . . . it doesn’t look like he started farther away (I’m just going by the video, I have not seen the problem in person). He started in more or less the same spot, but matched on one side of a feature that Dave and Paul started compressing both sides of. It adds moves, sure, but it doesn’t really add distance climbed.

The video is amazing. Glad to see emotion that doesn’t involve dropping the F-bomb over and over or screaming into the rock like a banshee. The start, although about as logical as Dave’s, looks like it could be hard. Does that makes this a legit V16?

Awesome video!
There seems to have been a lot of confusion about the starting holds of TSOTW. With this low starts it seems pretty clear where to start. Two hands on the rail.
Congratulations to Dai
