More V15s At Lincoln Lake For Webb, Woods

Daniel Woods and Jimmy Webb have been busy up at Lincoln Lake with Woods doing the first repeat of Webb’s addition The Wheel Of Wolvo (V15) and Webb doing the FA of Delirium, variation of The Wheel that is also likely V15.

Woods had this to say about the send on Instagram:

Such a sick line climbing the entire right side roof section of the evil backwards boulder. 30 moves long involving a powerful, iron cross start, into a max extension compression section. Low start to the over cling traverse. Very morpho for me… Had to climb tall to do this rig. Sick effort on Jimmy’s part for hooking up the FA. A mental battle complete…

@jwebxl gettin this photo after the 2nd ascent was made of "The Wheel of Wolvo (8C)."Such a sick line climbing the entire right side roof section of the evil backwards boulder. 30 moves long involving a powerful, iron cross start, into a max extension compression section. Low start to the over cling traverse. Very morpho for me... Had to climb tall to do this rig. Sick effort on Jimmy's part for hooking up the FA. A mental battle complete... Onto the next. @thenorthface @sanukfootwear @petzl_official @organicclimbing

And on his 8a scorecard Webb had this to say about Delirium:

Starts the same as the wheel of wolvo but escapes into dismantling the enemy. Kinda the more direct finish and definitely a small step above the original wheel. Climbing this thing into We can build you is seeming more and more doable.

So if you’re keeping track at home, Wheel of Wolvo and Delirium start in the same spot and then Wheel finishes on the problem The Overcling Traverse (V11/12) and Delirium finishes on the problem Dismantling The Enemy (V12).  There is another possible finish from this same start though, and that would be doing the initial V14 of Wheel and then climbing Dave Graham’s We Can Build You (V14).  Adherents to the all important, never wrong bouldering grade equation would recognize that a V14 into a V14 should result in a V16, but something tells me that Webb is too Brave & Humble™ to suggest such a grade.

True bouldering nerds will recognize that the grade equation works best when there are no significant rests between sections, and that its applicability in this situation is therefore limited.
