What do you do if you’re Adam Ondra and none of the established routes at an area take you more than a few tries? You bolt a new one of course.

So…if my memory serves me, Ondra is bolting a line that will pass really close to the massive bee hive. That should make for a spicy lead. Is the bee hive not there anymore?

It’s still there. You can see it directly to his right in the first picture.

If he is looking for something hard why doesn’t he try the sharma project?

Two possibilities:
1) He wants to do his own thing
2) The Sharma project only seems cool because of who bolted it and not because of the climbing it contains

The Sharma Project at drive-by would be awesome if it had a better start. The holds are there and it goes free but either jugging that line or traversing that horrible ledge would just be a hassle.

Two additional possibilities:
3) The Sharma project seems cool because it sure does look SUPER imposing. Quite stunning really. Would be awesome if it goes.
2) Speaking of which, maybe Adam isn’t trying it because it doesn’t go.
Just sayin’…

I would love to see him bolt something in the huge cave between Bronaugh Wall and Purgatory. The one with the gigantic huecos in it. He could call it “space balls.”

Adam Taylor already bolted a line in the Bronaugh Cave

I still think it would be cool to see someone try it just because of the roof.

Maybe the 60-70 feet of jugging up a static line is keeping Adam from trying the Sharma project… I think that would be a big enough downside to keep most people from trying a route no matter how good it may be.

Or maybe he just wants to add something new an inspiring while he’s here. He’ll definitely come back, perhaps even with Sharma, to tackle that project like on La Dura Dura. Speculation is speculatory.
