Big Up Productions is out in Bishop following Alex Honnold around for a segment in this year’s Reel Rock Tour which can mean only one thing: highballs. The Bishop Bouldering Blog has the story on a new highball they filmed Honnold climbing on the Luminance boulder called Too Big To Flail:
This line takes on the sheer face right of The Golden Rule and involves some thin v9 face climbing at about 20 feet up, followed by the most airy hard moves at the Buttermilks to gain the top of the boulder–which, in this case, was about 45 feet above one of the biggest stacks of crashpads ever compiled.
Would 34 pads be enough for your project?

Update: Check out the Reel Rock Tour Facebook page for a short clip of Honnold working the line
It appears that its “flail” not “fail.” Either way, my jaw is on the ground.

Either name makes sense I suppose. Also “too big for me,” me being not Alex Honnold.
