More V15s From Ondra & Woods

After a quick trip to Switzerland Adam Ondra returned to his native Czech Republic where he added a new V14 and V15 at Petrohrad according to his 8a scorecard.  He commented that the suggested V15, dubbed Cháron, fit his style exactly and that he sent it quickly after spending 3 days on it last winter.

Daniel Woods is still in Switzerland where he did the FA of La Force Tranquile which goes at a suggested grade of V15.  He had this to say about the problem on his 8a scorecard:

Wow! such a mental and condition war for me. Located on the backside of the darkness cave. Has very subtle movement using small, slopey edges and poor feet out a 45 degree overhang. This one is for you Courtney… thanks for supporting me and walking up to the boulder multiple times. Now I can move forward

This latest V15 FA for Woods comes on the heels of another V15 FA in Magic Wood which he established just two weeks prior.  This brings Woods’ total number of V15s climbed to 10, with a full half of those coming in Magic Wood.

I’m glad Woods went with a name that isn’t taken from Three 6 Mafia.
Dudes are killing it. They should meet up and tackle some projects together.

Not sure why, but I read Petrohrad as Petro-hard.

Haha, nice.  I suppose I can still say things like “Ondra puts the ‘hard’ in Petrohrad” and it is just slightly more obscure, but still just as lame . . . in a hopefully funny sorta way.

“hrad” is the Slavic equivalent of “burgh”, i.e., “city.”  “Tverdy” = “hard”  Therefore, if you want to be a HUGE dork, you could say that Adam puts the tverdy in Petrohrad.

in fackt ‘tverdy’ doesn’t mean anything in Czech. The word for hard is ‘tvrdy’ (even better ‘tvrdý’) or ‘těžký’. And ‘hrad’ means castle…
