Daniel Woods On Fire In Switzerland

In some sense this shouldn’t be surprising, but Daniel Woods is on fire right now in Magic Wood, Switzerland.  Earlier in the week he repeated 2 V15s in Sharma’s Practice Of The Wild and Robinson’s Ill Trill suggesting a grade of V14 for the latter.

The day after his repeat of Ill Trill Woods was back in Magic Wood where he did the 2nd ascent of Chris Webb Parsons’ Believe In Two.  At the time of the FA Webb Parsons suggested a grade of V15 for the problem, which is a right hand exit to Steppenwolf (V12 or 13), and commented that he was “sure” that the “grade of this boulder will stand the test of time”.  Woods suggested a grade of V14 for the line and in writing on his 8a scorecard he comments that the problem involves a “hard first move and last move with a connecting section” and that the “climbing style just fit me on this one, regardless of how hard, it is such an amazing line”.

I’m very curious to see if he tries The Story of Two Worlds.

There’s a cool new short interview with Daniel on DPM. He calls Practice of the Wild “by far in my top 3 for coolest problems I have completed.”
