Deadpoint Magazine has a nice video put together of Angie Payne’s FFA of the RMNP, CO testpiece The Automator (V13) which made a lot of news last week. The video does a nice job showing some of the struggle that goes into an ascent like this, and it also makes the best of the fact that Payne didn’t send until long after the sun had set.

Didn’t like that one eh? It certainly wasn’t the best “climbing” video per se but I found it amusing nonetheless for being a bit different than your average video. I can assure there are much worse videos out there.

John must have wronged some people out (or slept with a lot of guys sister’s or girl friends) cause on every site I got to people are down on his videos. I actually liked full chaos. It did not have the effects that he’s known for. I thought it did a pretty good job of showing the area in summer time.
Have to agree with Narc that there are some terrible vids out there and by no means was this one bad at all.

In March when the video of Nic sending the Raven came on and everyone bashed how his tantrum. Now this video comes along with Angie kicking the wall and all and it’s all love and respect? Don’t get me wrong, I love the video (I love both videos) but isn’t that a bit curious? I guess it’s the yelling and swearing that make the difference, huh?

Interesting point. I’d have to see the Raven video again but my recollection was that Nic’s reaction after sending was a bit more…extreme…over the top…I don’t know. I personally think it’s good to see climbers showing emotion and investment in what they are doing.

Adam Indra throws fits that are far more embarrassing than either of these and no one ever says anything just because he’s so strong. I don’t mind people getting frustrated but I hate seeing that amount of freak out.

Comparing Nic to anyone of a different species much less the opposite sex? In all honesty, obscenity laden anger fueled masochism. Sounds like about where the girls disappear. Good to see the CO crowd has at least a few overachievers rediscovering the good vibe CO had before the population explosion.
