It’s summer in the Frontrange of Colorado and that can only mean one thing, boulderers escaping to the cooler temperatures of one of Colorado’s alpine bouldering areas. Cooler temps, good rock and beautiful scenery make alpine bouldering the highlight of many people’s year. Oh…and those hikes. The climbing at both Rocky Mountain National Park and Mt. Evans is guarded by bruising hikes above 10,000 feet. This of course means another season spent discussing the issue of pad stashing.

The Life DVD Review
I was at the gym Rockquest in Cincinnati recently for a youth climbing competition. During one of the frequent spells of downtime I was perusing their DVD rack when I noticed that they were basically giving away copies of BS Productions compilation movie The Life. Given that I had always wanted to see what The Life was all about, I picked up a copy.

Jay Knower Slideshow At Devil’s Lake
On Saturday, July 5th Wisconsin climber Jay Knower will be giving a slideshow at Wheeler’s campground near Devil’s Lake State Park. Among other things, Jay is known for being one of only a few Wisconsin climbers to have climbed 5.14. As usual, I cannot make it.
