Matt Fultz In Rocklands
→ A Summer In Africa∞
Nice recap with pictures by the UK’s Mina Leslie-Wujastyk of her six week trip to Rocklands which saw her climb 8 V11s and 1 V12, but not that V12:
One sad thing was the closure of the Tea Garden area, which left me (and many others) unable to try Black Shadow (8A+). This was a nemesis from my last trip and so I was sad not to have the chance to revisit it. I can only hope that relations will improve with that particular landowner and the area will be re-opened in future years.

Jimmy Webb: First Try In Rocklands
→ Between Rocklands And A Hard Place∞
Discarded climbing tape and litter are an everyday find at the climbing areas; faeces and toilet paper are hidden in caves and under rocks; and huge tick lines and graffiti are abundant. It’s important to stress that the majority of climbers are considerate of the environment when at the crags, but there are always exceptions to the rule.

The closure of one area here in Rocklands is solely due to us and, if we’re not careful, we will lose this stunning destination altogether.
→ Two V13s In Rocklands By Anna Stöhr∞
Impressive trip to Rocklands for Anna Stöhr as she repeats The Power Of One (V13) and The Vice (V13):
Once again, Anna has broken through the glass ceiling and set a new precedent for female bouldering, by sending these two lines, needing only three days to crack, The Power of One, and four for, The Vice. Hats off to Anna for raising the bar one notch higher!
Not bad to go along with her six bouldering World Cup victories so far this year.
