Tomorrow marks the kick off of the final event on the 2011 Unified Bouldering Championships Pro Tour, The North Face Open. 2011 has been an up and down year for the tour with the success of events in Boulder and New York City offset at least in part by the cancellation of the event in Salt Lake City.
This weekend’s stop will find climbers like Paul Robinson, Dave Graham, Ty Landman, Ethan Pringle, Alex Johnson and Angie Payne1 making their way to Burlington, VT and the shores of Lake Champlain where the comp will be staged outdoors2 alongside the 2011 Nor’easter Sports & Music Festival.
The schedule for the climbing comp portion of the weekend looks like this (all times EST):
Friday 9/23
- Qualifiers: 10:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Saturday 9/24
- Semi-finals: 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM
- Finals: 3:00 PM – 4:30 PM
Finals and semi-finals will be streamed live at UBCProur.com and, apparently, at Rock & Ice’s website
As I mentioned previously, I will actually be in Burlington to cover the event and will have live blogs3 going throughout the day on both Friday and Saturday. I’ll be doing my best to bring you words and pictures throughout the weekend about not only the comp but also the music festival and whatever else I come across in Burlington, so be sure to check back early and often.
- At least they’re among those scheduled to appear ↩
- This can only improve, right? ↩
- For real this time ↩
