The 2014 IFSC Lead World Cup continues this weekend with a stop in Briançon, France. I missed covering last week’s stop in Chamonix, but it was won by Jain Kim and Sachi Amma. Coincidentally, they are both in first place after the qualifying round in Briançon as well with many familiar names joining them in the semifinal including one Adam Ondra1. Women’s qualifier results can be seen here, while men’s can be seen here.
Four Americans competed in the event: Delaney Miller (21), Grace McKeehan (T-31), Michaela Kiersch (38) and Carlo Traversi (33). Miller is moving on to semi-finals which you can watch below.

Why are the finals videos set to private?

Finals were cancelled due to weather

Ya!!! WTF???

To be fair, the weather was horrible, but I can’t believe there was no contingency plan like holding finals the next day or something

Eh no lighting.
Am I the only one that sees that and thinks it would be awesome to climb in? Obviously it would be harder but normally in conditions like that outside rock gets dangerous with the approach or loose rock or lightning, but here it would be a safe but awesome day of climbing.
And people didn’t think you could get that adventure climbing feel on plastic. 🙂

Pretty sure lightning was, in fact, an issue
