To describe how odd the past week or so has been for me would take too long and be too boring, but suffice to say that it’s been an interesting time for me.

As it relates to climbing I decided on a whim to meet a friend of mine out in Hueco, so I booked a ticket last Friday and by Saturday I was posted up at the Hueco Rock Ranch1. Of course by the end of the day on Sunday I had taken a mildly tweaked finger and completely destroyed it on some ill-fated attempts to repeat Better Eat Your Wheaties (V8) and so it goes.
My initial reaction was to book the first flight home, but I’m pretty glad I decided to stick around for the remainder of my stay here.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the time spent meeting new people from all over the world, practicing my photography skills and enjoying the beautiful environment that is Hueco Tanks.

And the climbing situation hasn’t been a complete loss as the other day I was able to make my way to the top of a few classics like the unbelievable Bloodline on North Mountain.
Jason Kehl’s amazing problem Bloodline
I only have a two days left, so hopefully I can make my way to the top of a few more problems…without hurting myself any worse.
Video Friday
On the video front, be sure to check out the great video Andy Mann put together of Emily Harrington repeating Waka Flocka (5.14b) in Rifle. Solid work all around…
