Hard Sends In Rocklands By Johansen & Le Nevé

Hard Sends In Rocklands By Johansen & Le Nevé

Earlier this summer (or winter depending on your perspective) Norway’s Therese Johansen made her way to Rocklands, South Africa.  On the heels of her 2nd ascent of a proposed V13 in Norway it seemed as though she was poised for a good trip, and that’s exactly what happened.  Over the course of about a month she managed roughly 12 boulder problems V10 and up according to her 8a scorecard.  Highlights include repeats of twoV12s:  Tea With Elmarie and Black Shadow.

More recently, France’s Melissa Le Nevé also made the long journey down to South Africa.

Fresh off a 4th place overall finish in the 2011 Bouldering World Cup wasted no time getting down to business.  In the past couple of weeks she has done roughly ten V10’s or harder according to her 8a scorecard.  Highlights include a flash of The Hatchling (V11) and repeats of Nusta (V11) and Black Shadow (V12) on the same day.
