Simon Carter Talks Photography, Shows Off New Camera

Simon Carter Talks Photography, Shows Off New Camera

Chances are that if you’ve opened a climbing magazine in the past 10+ years you’ve seen images from Australian photographer Simon Carter.  His images from climbing destinations all over the world are consistently amazing.

In conjunction with Nikon, Carter recently put the new Nikon D3S through its paces in Australia’s beautiful Blue Mountains to show off the HD video possibilities offered by this new camera and the results are, predictably, quite good.

In the first video Carter discusses the processes he goes through to shoot photos and the second video is more a streamlined feature of climbers Vince Day and Monique Forestier.  Be sure to click the 4-way arrow in the bottom right corner of the videos to enjoy them in full screen.

Do like the dramatic, apocolypytic soundtrack to the second clip! As a photographer through and through, I have to admit I’m beginning to see the appeal of this video stuff!
