Last week I mentioned that I wasn’t going to the Outdoor Retailer Trade Show, and I know that a lot of you have never been to one either. To give you a better idea of what really happens at these sort of events are a pair of videos making their way around the interwebs.
The first video comes from Andrew Bisharat (somewhat NSFW language):
The second video is from some guy at Five Ten who took the time to interview several famous climber types:

so what the hell happened at o.r. that everyone needs to blog about but not give a full story about it? could i just be confused or did something really goofy happen out there?

It doesn’t seem like anything ‘goofy’ happened in particular. Just that people are poking fun of how ‘goofy’ it was this year and always is…? That would be my assumption. Though PB had an interesting write up about an article he read http://www.mountainsandwater.com/ about companies ‘cutting the fat’ as it were. Which like the video above would lead to more people selling their soles for a sponsorship. lol.

It’s just a joke based on AB’s experiences at the trade shows over the years. Other than what DPM had to say and a few other tidbits I’m not sure there was much interesting that happened for the average climber. I’ll try to mention some of more interesting happenings in an upcoming “serious” post.

Jimbag, you must relax. It’s clearly a joke. A pretty funny one actually.
