Summer 2001 Road Trip: Wild Iris Pt. 1

Wild Iris

The climbing at the Wild Iris outside of Lander, WY is a lot of tendon tweaking pulling on steep limestone pockets. Much like RMNP, the setting in which you are climbing is pretty amazing. The Rodeo Wave Wall featured in most of these pictures is one of the coolest walls I have seen anywhere. I really enjoyed the gymnastic nature of the climbing although 2 of my fingers still have problems from an injury I sustained there. Sadly, many (probably all) the routes there are manufactured in some way or another.
