Climbing Video: Mike Foley Sending Livin’ Astroglide (5.14c) In Rumney

I mentioned the other week that Mike Foley had repeated Livin’ Astroglide (hard 5.14c) at Rumney’s Waimea wall.  The route links together two tough Dave Graham routes by climbing the majority of Livin’ Astro (easy 5.14c) and then traversing left into the crux of China Beach (5.14b).

Courtesty of Dave Wetmore, here is video of Foley climbing the rig:

Mike! We are all SO proud of you and how strong you’ve become. You are such an awesome rock climber! You make those grips look big even though they aren’t very big at all. We are all very impressed, Michael. Congratulations on completing your climb. P.S. I LOOOVE Phil Collins. How did you know?

Awesome vid, awesome route and a talented up and coming climber. I have said it before but, Rumney is perhaps my favorite place to climb. Amazing schist and burly climbing.

For us Queebs (what them new-england folk like to call us Quebecers), Rumney is the closest world-class climbing area in the US.

Props to Mike for sending this premier line!

By the way, is anyone working on repeating Jaws II, or working the Bill Clinton project this year?

Mike Foley and cameraman David Wetmore are two of the nicest super-strong climbers I’ve ever met. Thoughtful, considerate, and super psyched on climbing. New Englanders should be proud.

Having competed against him for a few years in the USAC I gotta say, Mike is one of THE smoothest climbers I’ve ever seen. He makes everything he touches look piss easy. SO good.
