Update On The Climbingnarc.com Forum

I added a forum earlier this year that had been temporarily lost in the shuffle of updating the design of this site.  Now that things are settling down I fixed things up so that the forum looks a bit better along with some added functionality.

Uploading a PictureThe big change is that you can now upload images directly into your posts.  No external hosting!  And it is pretty simple to boot.  Just don’t inundate my server with oversized images or I will be forced to take action.  Click on the image at right for an example of how it works.  Just click on the little tree image in the post box, then click on the icon next to the ‘image url’ box and you will be on your way.  Check out this new post I made with a few more Vail World Cup links to check out that features an image uploaded directly into the forum.

One good post that was added awhile back that everyone should check out is Luke’s link to his list of climbing blogs he reads.  Feel free to add other ones you are reading.  I will be adding some additional ones that Luke doesn’t have in the next couple of days.  Who ever would have thought there were this many climbing blogs out there?

This post with video of Christian Core on his proposed V15 Goia is quite good as well and is worth checking out.

Feel free to post about whatever you want, especially links and stories that I might not be aware of.  I will be running some forum-specific contests in the near future so look for those.  In the meantime, have fun and let me know if you ever come across any problems.  Look for recent forum posts in the sidebar.

One note: currently you do have to be logged in to post but I am considering removing that hurdle as soon as a bug with guest posting is corrected.  Registering is simple, fast and free.

Be careful if you do open up forum posting. Many sites easily become targets of spam and porn bots.
