   that video was awesome!….. until paul started talking about people “forgetting” about him and daniel in five years. kinda takes away from the whole “fred nicole aspect” : some modest old guy who didn’t care about searching for the next 8B or self-promoting his sends for his sponsors or instagram or twatter followers.

     Excellent point, although I have to say, Fred isn’t that old – lots of guys in their 40s absolutely crank. What eventually stops climbers isn’t weakness from age, but responsibilities due to family and work taking up all their time. And injuries, of course.

     In France, I often saw guys 50+ cranking 13+.

     You completely missed the whole point of what he was talking about. He was just saying that people tend to forget history pretty quickly, and he immediately followed by saying that he hopes people continue to remember and appreciate Fred because of the significance of what he did for modern bouldering.

   I’d rather watch Fred Nicole climb a v10 than watch any of today’s boulderers climb a v15…. always has and always will be the single greatest inspiration towards my climbing.
