Jay Knower Slideshow At Devil’s Lake
On Saturday, July 5th Wisconsin climber Jay Knower will be giving a slideshow at Wheeler’s campground near Devil’s Lake State Park. Among other things, Jay is known for being one of only a few Wisconsin climbers to have climbed 5.14. As usual, I cannot make it.
Reel Rock Film Tour Coming To An Area Near You
The 3rd annual Reel Rock Film Tour is coming to an area near you. If you live in places like California or Colorado this is nothing new to you. However, for the first time the tour will also be visiting those of us who live in Wisconsin. They will be at the REI in Brookfield at 6:30 pm on Tuesday October 21st. Tickets are $5. Somewhat surprisingly they are going to attempt to have the show outdoors near the end of October. Should be interesting.
Tony Lamiche Repeats Amandala (V15)
Andy Mann is in South Africa living the dream, and he reports in his first blog for Climbing.com that Tony Lamiche has repeated Fred Nicole’s Rocklands, South Africa V15 Amandala. You can see an old picture of Fred on it at Andy’s blogsite.
Nalle Hukkataival Mt. Evans Video At MVM
If you never checked out the premium section of the Momentum Video Magazine, now might be a good time to do so. They have video of Nalle Hukkataival climbing the following problems at Mt. Evans, CO: Clear Blue Skies (V12, 2nd go), Mental Masturbation (V12, 2nd go), No More Greener Grasses (V12, flash), Super Gui (V11, 2nd go), Silverback (V11) and Ode To The Modern Man (V14).
Guide To Choss
The aptly named Splitter Choss Blog has a helpful guide to the different kinds of choss one might come across when searching for new rock. I think the rock at Governor Dodge probably falls somewhere between Chunky and Sucker.
