According to 8a it looks like it took Jwebb 4yrs to go from V6-V10 and 3yrs to transition from V13 to V14. This stuff doesn’t happen overnight, which is all the more inspiring to keep training and see what you can personally can achieve.
Oh s**t Mr. Webb! What a great feat and brilliant style.I suppose this is a good way to save energy, climb a lot of problems & stay psyched.
Mr. Narc – any possibility that you hit up Jimmy Webb for an extended interview? Or perhaps get him on the new Lt11tv talk show? I’d love to know what his thinking vis-a-vis climbing is at the moment: i.e. is he looking to travel more and repeat(/flash) most of the world’s problems V13 and below? Or does he see himself developing more new boulders and areas and so on? All of course is life-situation dependent questions etc., but would be interesting to know. And, of course, with the release of Jan Hojer’s training video, I’d love to find out whether Mr Webb would divulge some of his training secrets for the general climbing public.
This is a great idea! I would love to read a Webb interview. It would really be interesting to hear his thoughts on training and progression. Also, he’s kind of a big guy it seems as compared to Woods, for instance. I wonder how he thinks his body type affects his style. Is Webb about as tall as Hojer? Maybe a bit shorter? Those two are absolute beasts. Webb’s forearms are comically huge.
This video makes me wonder what he did for the rest of his monthlong trip, because he appears to have gotten a lifetime of hard bouldering done in seven or eight burns.
Holy mother of God, what did I just witness? That was absurd!
