Carlo Traversi has done the 3rd ascent of Paul Robinson’s Meadowlark Lemon (V15) in Red Rock, Nevada. Commenting on his 8a scorecard he calls it a “5 star line” and gives credit to Robinson for his FA. Who he does not credit though is a person that seems to have been integral to his success of late, and that person is, of course, me.
You see, it was about two years ago that I took a week long trip to Colorado. On that trip it just so happened that I did a bit of climbing with near Carlo and even crashed on his floor. Here I was, a flat-lander struggling to find even a few days to get out just to punt around on some high altitude choss boulders. Clearly horrified by the idea of ending up like me—not all that fit, chained to a desk all day, blogging more about climbing than actually climbing—it was not long after this visit that Carlo quit his job and committed to travelling and climbing full time. Since then he’s done several V14 and V15 boulders including the aforementioned success on Meadowlark Lemon.
You’re welcome.
HAHAHA So you’re trying to tell us that Carlo’s potential as a climber could never have been realized without a trip that you took to visit and climb with him a couple years ago. Get over yourself.

The post is dripping with sarcasm even as text and you can’t pick it up? Seriously?

1) I climbed near him, not with him 2) I doubt he knew ahead of time that I would be sleeping on his floor 3) I had my best single day of bouldering ever the next day so perhaps it is him I should be writing a post to give credit to

4) Just wait until I pen my post taking credit for Ben Spannuth’s recent success after sharing some fine Kentucky spirits with him on this same trip. The lesson: I need to go to Colorado more.

Humor, Carl. Humor.

Narc, your use of the well-know comedic technique of sarcasm is not lost on everyone. I particularly enjoyed it.
Carl, perhaps read things a little more closely next time before posting.

Carl. you suck.

I read Carl’s comment as equally sarcastic to The Narc’s? I’m surprised so many people took him seriously.

. . , the plot thickens . . .

Jaime and Narc… and everyone who loves this blog (myself included),
Jaime is right, I intended my comment to be read in an equally sarcastic tone, but I think the very last sentence did not convey that very well. I’m sorry that I caused such an uproar. I didn’t mean to insult anyone. I’ll be a bit more careful in the future.
Love you guys,
Carl

I’d like to know what holds the climbingnarc.com record for lowest rated comment ever.

It’s a tight race between Carl and this person

Haha. It’s true Narc!

And speaking of Jamie weighing in, for a minute there I thought I was reading the comments on a b3bouldering post –I think JE could blog he spent a fun day at Disneyworld and it would generate 80 comments attacking/defending his position. 🙂 <== Note my disarming emoticon. (Now I'll duck my head and sneak away.)
