“Top Out On See Spot, When You See It”

Jason Kehl mentions in another update on his Facebook page that Ashima Shiraishi has done Barefoot On Sacred Ground (V11 or 12) with the highball See Spot Run finish thrown in for good measure.  The Big Up cameras have been rolling throughout her trip so look to see Ashima once again in this year’s Reel Rock Tour.  Kehl has had his camera rolling so look for footage from Ashima’s trip to appear somewhere at some point in the near future.

Sick, got to see her work out the moves on “Barefoot” when I was there last week. Super cool kid with a cute personality. The most impressive thing about her is the awareness and control of her body- she just gets how one is supposed to move on the rock!

Proud that she finished the job. I know too many dudes that have dropped from the jug and called it good.

Proud for sure. See spot is high up if you’re 6′ tall let alone 4′.

Hey Narc, are you downgrading climbs now? You know you reported Portia Menlove climbing this back in January of 2011 and called it V12. I don’t recall seeing it getting downgraded anywhere.

Is the new practice to downgrade anything that gets flashed or climbed by a child?

But you called it V11 when Jorg and Katrina did it earlier this year. What gives?

Easy, Scott. I’m not the final arbiter of what grades things get nor is anyone else that “reports” on what climbs people are doing. I generally try to attach whatever grade the climber gives it at the time when I do my posts, but opinions differ and change over time. Going back to update prior posts to reflect these changing opinions would be impossible.
