Carlo Traversi has done the FA of the long-standing “ladder project” at Leavenworth, WA, renaming it The Penrose Step and giving it a grade of V14. Here’s what Traversi had to say about it on 8a:
The longstanding Ladder Project. A stunning line on a huge blank face. One of the most perfect, pure lines I’ve ever seen. Barely squeaked out a send today. Such tricky, subtle moves.
When I was in Leavenworth back in April, Jon and I scoped this line out a bit since it sits 5 feet from the main road. While it certainly looked hard, it also seemed fairly plausible that the line could be done by the right climber.

Really cool to hear this finally went down. Big congrats, Carlos 🙂
