New V14 In Austria By Daniel Woods

New V14 In Austria By Daniel Woods

Daniel Woods is done with the sport climbing game for now and he’s moved on to the bouldering around his temporary home in Innsbruck, Austria.

Working his way back in to shape, Woods repeated the V13s The Power Of Goodbye and The Exploited (his first in over 7 months).  Feeling stronger, Woods then set his sights on a direct finish to an existing V12 in the Sundergrund Area of Austria’s Zillertal.  Dubbed American Gangster, Emi Moosburger shares more about this new V14:

Yesterday, Daniel Woods did the FA of two of the best hard lines in the Zillertal, Austria. The lines are located in the Sundergrund Area and the first one is a steep 45° overhanging problem that he named “American Gangster” and graded 8B+. Its the straigth exit to the existing problem “Camorra” 8A+ that Korni and I opened a bit more than a year ago, the full line of the block. The standing start of the new line is a two-mover about 8A+ itself. It was amazing to watch and spot him fighting through the problem!

Moving just up the hill from AG, Woods also did the FA of Slapshot (V11).

Be sure to check out Emi Moosburger’s blog for excellent pictures of Woods climbing American Gangster as well as other shots from all over the world.
