Back in March of 2008, European bouldering champion Natalija Gros of Slovenia made an impressive ascent of Histerija (5.14c) at Mišja Peč. This makes Gros one of the few women in the entire world to have climbed 5.14c.
Somehow I missed the video of her ascent at the time, so here it is now:

The video of her ascent was filmed as part of a documentary that is set to be released shortly called Chalk & Chocolate. The documentary will follow Natalija’s path as she worked toward sending Histerija. Here is the trailer:

That’s one of the best sport climbing videos I’ve seen! Comparable to Laurent Triay’s short of Sharma doing La Rambla (on youtube). Thanks for putting this up!

i was very disappointed when she didn’t at least take a small bite out of the pristine snowball before tossing it aside like trash. do you even know the street value of that mountainside?

Not to diminish the strength and grace of this climber and the vision and beauty of the vid, but does it strike anyone else as strange that she seems to traverse all the way to the finishing jugs of the neighbor climb and nearly bypasses a bolt in the process? I don’t want to sound accusatory since I don’t know anything about the climb or the climber, I’m just wondering if anyone else found this to be peculiar.
All the same, it’s a tremendous video. I love that the music celebrates the grace and fluidity of the climb instead of the burl factor.

CJS: my guess about why she traversed is she wanted to rest. when women climb, we like to find good rest spots so we don’t have to take or fall. who knows… great video either way.

Any ideas about how this movie is being distributed or sold?
