Yesterday was another beautiful and atypically pleasant summer day here in Wisconsin.

Mrs. Narc and I had a good day bouldering out at Governor Dodge where we were able to do a couple more FA’s along with sampling some recent additions to the Dodge.

The pace of development at the Dodge has only increased lately with the discovery of a new area and several quality problems (both easy and hard) being cleaned and climbed each week. Spearheading much of the development is of course John Freaney who continues to claim many of the more difficult FAs. Check out this video of him climbing one of the few roofs at the Dodge. It is a problem called Illusions of Paradise (V7ish) near the Deer Cove parking area. I checked it out yesterday and despite some soft rock it looks to be a quality problem.

With cooler temps, the upcoming fall season should be one to remember. Get out there and look for some new rock! Just don’t forget to bring your brushes…
Yo Narc, I keep seeing stellar areas that have huge potential for bolting, i know this is highly not encouraged, but what do you think the best way of petitioning this might be? It makes me really sad that such a great location for sport is not being fulfilled…

I would say that the chances of bolting being allowed at the dodge are very slim. From reading MP it sounds like they were not happy when they found out about the initial round of bolting at all.

If that boy learned to jam a crack, that would be a good roof crack problem.

I believe that is being attempted by those more into that sort of thing.
