The September 2007 issue of Outside Magazine features a spread on Chris Sharma’s whirlwind year that will be featured in the upcoming film King Lines. This whirlwind year that started with his ascent of the Es Pontas project has taken Sharma from Greece to Spain to Venezuela to California to France and finally back to [...]
Before They Were Stars
Pictures Page
I started adding a few pictures to the Pictures Page. Currently there are pictures from my trip to Colorado and Wyoming back in 2001. They were taken with my sister’s POS point and shoot film camera so don’t expect any groundbreaking photography. The pictures in Colorado were taken at Lumpy Ridge, Camp Dick and RMNP. [...]

Pulldown & Hoedown – RRG ’07
I am just about recovered from last weekend’s trip to the Red. Also, I am slowly getting everything in order with this new site and so far I am liking it a lot better. Next week the usual doses of information should return. A few words on last weekend’s trip: When I was younger (5 [...]

Back From Kentucky
We are back from our weekend in Kentucky. Although overall it was an exhausting trip, it was one of the best I have had despite my lack of time spent on the wall. It will take me a bit to get caught up on things, but I should have some more pictures later this [...]

Mt. Evans Photos
Click photo to become enlightened… Click the photo and become enlightened to the fact that there is more climbing at Mt. Evans, CO than just the understandably legendary Dali Boulder. For as much time as he spends there, the Enlightened Chuffer must have very strong legs, no? I think we need to visit Mt. Evans/RMNP [...]

More on Sharma’s Uber-Proj
There is a lot of mystery surrounding this project at the epic 3rd Tier/Monastery of Clark Mountain that Chris Sharma has been working on. It is getting a lot of play for becoming THE standard for hard climbing if/once he sends it. Details beyond this have been hard to come by although a few words [...]

News & Notes
What Did You Do This Weekend?
Tommy Caldwell and Alex Honnold spent Saturday romping up big walls in Yosemite. The pair free climbed Freerider on El Cap (6:45 climbing), the South Face of Mt. Watkins (2:40 climbing) and the Regular Northwest Face on Half Dome (5 climbing) in just over 21 hours. More at Climbing.com. So…how was your weekend??
Ethan Pringle On Jumbo Love
Ethan Pringle is back at Mt. Clark, home to that one route first done by that one guy:
Projecting a route like this requires all of your attention, and having to devote all of your attention to a route like this can get really tiring really fast. At some point, you just want to get it over with. Of course, afterward you feel a mix of relief and loss. Relief that you’re done and the epic is over, and loss that this magnificent line doesn’t require your presence anymore. But for me, I think I’ll have to take a nice long break from serious route projects for a little while after this. Like Randy Levitt said, “It’s like a limestone El Cap.” Obviously, that’s a bit of an exaggeration, but it does sort of convey the amount of work required to complete a project of this caliber.
Pringle is no stranger to Jumbo Love, having tried it even before its FA back in 2008. You can see some footage of those attempts here.
When In Doubt Pack It Out
I don’t know about you, but I always try my best to climb close to an actual bathroom. In case you don’t, the Access Fund has a nice refresher on what to do when nature calls.
