Vote In The 2010 Reel Rock Filmmaking Competition

Voting for the 2010 edition of the Reel Rock Filmmaking Competition is now open until September 10th.  Winners will be announced at the Reel Rock Tour’s premier in Boulder, CO on September 16th.

You’ll notice that entries this year are not broken up into categories like they were the first 2 years, and overall I’d say that the quality of the videos has definitely improved compared to 2008 and 2009.  There are still a couple of videos where you watch and you’re sort of left scratching your head though.

My favorites were probably the “Top Rope Tough Guys”, “Roxxx” and perennial winner Spencer Victory’s “Vertical World”.  Check them out for yourself and let me know which one was your favorite in the comments.

    Top Rope Tough Guys is gold. I appreciate that they recognize the convenience of finding a climb so accessible you don’t even have to get out of your car to belay. Approaches are super tiring. I’d rather get my adrenaline up on top rope.

    There is some good stuff here. As far as humor goes, I’d say its between Top Rope Tough Guys and ROXXX, which had me giggling. Maybe it’s because I’ve never seen TRL, but I feel like The Vertical World doesn’t live up to Spraylords, which was hilarious. Father of the Pride was also cool, that kid’ll be crazy good some day, but overall it wasn’t as good as the others. So hard to pick.
