First trad turned to sport. Then sport turned to bouldering. Now climbing has gone from outside in nature to indoors in stale climates.

"Remember when sex was safe and climbing was dangerous"

to hate on the gym and say real rock is the only real way to climb is just as deuschy as "that guy" who says classic rock is the only real type of music. no one likes that guy. unzip your mind down your spine to your behind

this is great news for climbing industries in countries where climbing is not very big or commercialised, for instance here in australia. although we have some excellent world class climbers here and a growing mass of people interested in the sport, a video like this (especially being free!) will help boost interest numbers in our sport. good on Big UP for taking this initiative. don't diss it people, this video is great news.

Queue the tradster negativity. Speaking as someone who really likes climbing outdoors, gym bashing is lame. They're not the same thing, much like terrain park skiing is NOT backcountry/big mountain skiing which is NOT mogul skiing which is NOT racing/slalom/GS skiing. But yet they're all done with skis on your feet, and have a bit of overlap.

At least 90% of the climbing population can't climb outdoors ALL the time for myriad reasons (weather, proximity to good outdoor climbing, etc.) So, if you can't manage to have ANY fun pulling on plastic, sucks for you!

I think that an idea like this touches on something Jamie posted on B3bouldering last year. Namely that as climbing expands and gyms become more prevalent, indoor climbing is going to become more of an "ends" if you will for some climbers. Obviously those of us who love the outdoor aspect can and will continue to do that but for some pushing their limits indoors will be all there is.

Either way, I'm interested in seeing what Big Up is able to put together and as it won't cost me anything I'll look forward to checking it out.

LOL. Sorry, but this just screams Lame. Training in the gym can be boring enough. Definitely don't want to watch it :)

I guess those gym only climbers will appreciate it.
