Hold maker Nicros has signed Daniel Woods, Paul Robinson and Alex Johnson to their team to help shape holds and develop products for the 2011 Nicros line-up. Word on the street is that Daniel and Paul will be visiting Minnesota soon to do work both in the shop and out on the boulders. Stay tuned.

Ethan Pringle On Jumbo Love
Ethan Pringle is back at Mt. Clark, home to that one route first done by that one guy:
Projecting a route like this requires all of your attention, and having to devote all of your attention to a route like this can get really tiring really fast. At some point, you just want to get it over with. Of course, afterward you feel a mix of relief and loss. Relief that you’re done and the epic is over, and loss that this magnificent line doesn’t require your presence anymore. But for me, I think I’ll have to take a nice long break from serious route projects for a little while after this. Like Randy Levitt said, “It’s like a limestone El Cap.” Obviously, that’s a bit of an exaggeration, but it does sort of convey the amount of work required to complete a project of this caliber.
Pringle is no stranger to Jumbo Love, having tried it even before its FA back in 2008. You can see some footage of those attempts here.
When In Doubt Pack It Out
I don’t know about you, but I always try my best to climb close to an actual bathroom. In case you don’t, the Access Fund has a nice refresher on what to do when nature calls.
Gravelle Repeats Echale (V14)
I guess it shouldn’t be surprising that with training like this that Canadian Yves Gravelle was able to climb his first V14 in Daniel Woods’ Echale in Clear Creek Canyon according to his 8a scorecard.

That’s great news for Nicros. Maybe Paul and Daniel should stop down in Wisco after they crush MN.

Indeed. Maybe one of them can do the 2nd ascent of Chaos so Sweaty can move on??

AAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA!!!
Made my day.

Haha! Yes Narc, so good!

Anybody else sign on for this “Signature Series?”

You are very wise Ginger

Interesting. I wonder how much “work” they’ll be doing in the shop. I’m sure it’s a good move for Nicros and the athletes. It will be interesting to see how much hands on stuff they actually do for the shaping of the holds.

How sick would it be to have the two stop by Willow River, hardest sport climbs in the state? Currently the hardest is Cain, 5.14, sent by Andy Raether, if I’m right. Not to mention the drive is only less than an hour from the cities. Sick!

When they do come in they will have direct input into new training tools and our new series of holds.
jcoop,
Paul is a very talented artist and I have shaped with him before, Daniel is not so bad either. I can assure you, if it has there name on it they will have shaped it.

P.S.
They will not go anywhere near Willow river and it’s Chossy-ness.
We have much “Bigger” plans for them. In secret Minnesota locations.

Watch it, Nic. I will round house kick you in the face if you keep bad-mouthing Willow!

Maybe one or both of them will flash the Raven, then down grade it. Shit Nic, do you want that to happen? Ha, J/K.
When are you coming back to the Lake?

quite a zinger narc… i hate you.
@ steve. you only laugh cause you have a history of punts on it
@ Nic. why dont you take me to secret spots? I feel left out. This is bullshit.
@ remo. a flash and downgrade would be hilarious and would want video of Nic’s facial expressions during such a downrating conversation.

Punt punt punt.

I can think of two projects in the state of MN that they would be psyched on, and both are 3 to five hours from the cities.
