CORE is in stock and now shipping on Blu-Ray DVD at Bouldering.com. The Blu-Ray version has an almost hour long interview with Fred Nicole. The standard DVD version and HD download don't have this.

Something also of note is that Core is going to be available on Blu-Ray one month before both HD Download and DVD.

I assume this is strategic and some people who want the movie sooner will buy blu-ray for this reason alone.

Will this be enough? I dont't know. $40 is still a lot. But man I want to see the "Luxury" of climbing at the highest level :-D

I still think the package deal of disc + download are the best...

Things happen while you're gone. I think it's high time that you start making a living on professional climbers' successes. here's my vision:

every time daniel starts getting close to completing a project, tell sportiva that they should pay for your trip so he'll send.

every time sharma is coming close to a project tell evolv that they should pay for your trip so he'll send.

every time p.rob / DG / jon cardwell / etc are coming close to sending tell 5.10 to pay for your trip so they'll send.

there are countless other sponsored climbers on the verge of sending projects so you should be able to fund a nearly constant vacation on their attempts. This also means that, invariably, someone will send while you're gone so you can always show a causation between your absence and projects getting sent.

The only problem is that you'd have to give up climbingnarc in order to go actual climbing, which might be hard for you.

So when is this thing releasing anyway? God I'm spending to much freaking money lately. New shoes, new boots, new movie, new draws, new pad... at least I don't have a Ferrari payment over my head.

For the record, I have a blu-ray player. I own very few blu-ray titles however due to the high (many would argue inflated) cost of major movies on blu ray. $30+ is a lot of money to pay for a movie you're only going to watch a couple of times. Then again, the blu-ray experience is fantastic for those (like myself) that are into that sort of thing.

I personally haven't decided if I'll get the blu-ray version of CORE or not. I'm sure it looks and sounds amazing, but $40 is a lot of money to pay for any climbing movie. I've long argued that $30 is too much to pay for any climbing movie yet I've purchased several over the years (including PURE). When you can download a reasonably high quality HD version for half the price and still watch that version on your TV the blu-ray looks less attractive as well.

Overall though I'm impressed with the variety of options one has for buying Core and ultimately the market will decide if people are willing to pay a premium for Blu Ray climbing movies.

You know what my favorite part about Progression is....While Sharma is climbing Jumbo Love, or when Jorgenson is climbing Ambrosia it's absolutely dead silent. More of that, and some full 1080P on my 40" TV and I'd pay for a blu-ray.

I'm always surprised to see people say how inspired they are to see someone add a couple of moves to an established problem.
