After a snow delay Saturday that forced climbers to find a way to pass the day without losing too much energy, the 2009 Triple Crown Bouldering series wrapped up on Sunday at Tennessee’s Stone Fort (AKA Little Rock City).
For the men, Jimmy Webb continued his domination of the Triple Crown series with a win at the Stone Fort that put the finishing touch on his second straight series victory. The women’s side was a bit closer with 6 time defending series champ Kate McGinnis winning the Stone Fort leg but falling short in the overall standings, finishing an impressive 3rd. McGinnis spent a portion of the fall sport climbing in Kalymnos, Greece and only participated in the last 2 events of the Triple Crown. Despite this she finished only 3,000 points behind overall series champ Kasia Pietras. Congratulations of course go out to Kasia for her series victory.
