I must say that me either voted for Spencer’s movie.
I agree with everything that Ben has said. Two minute format does suits Youtube rather than this purpose.

Funny you guys are all a bunch of harsh critics. When we got the entries we thought they were fantastic. Every single finalist in the comedy category is a solid idea executed well. It's actually the ones that feature climbing action that are lacking a little bit -- why don't one of you try to submit something...tough guys

Yeah, trying to tell a story in 2 minutes is a losing game. Better to scrap the story and just go for super slick/super cool moments.

I did appreciate that more of these seemed to have high production values than last year.

The "internationals" were like sitting thru the commercials some rock vids make you agonizingly view without being able to fast forward or skip. Sometimes I miss the good ol' VHS - be kind, rewind...that is all.

i have to say that i really only liked Spencer's film. all the serious films were too short to really get me interested and the "story" was rushed feeling. i really think the 2 minute format lends itself better to youtube videos of people eating cheeseburgers than climbing films. these just need to be longer.

So it's not just me that was underwhelmed by the videos. Maybe it's because they shortened the length of the videos to 2 minutes as opposed to 3 last year? There were some good concepts but nothing seemed complete to me. I thought that Spencer's video from last year was funnier than anything this year.
