once you take "boring and pumpy" sport routes out of the equation, your are left with "awkward, irritating, and WTF?" sport routes, which confirms my use of padding.

boring, pumpy sport routes are the only saving grace of tying in!

"hey dood, let's go hang dog on the same tricky bouldery sequence at the top of the spurt root!" immediate punch to the nuts.

"hey dood, let's go do repetitive moves on a huge overhang with little or no thought required!" i respond: "HELL YES, I'LL BRING THE BEER!!!"

see the difference?

My bad...I...um...wasn't thinking clearly on account of the white lightning.

Next time for sure. Drinking bourbon at Miguel's has quickly overtaken any desire I have for boring, pumpy sport climbs anyhow.
