Issue 2 Of Deadpoint Magazine Now Available

Issue 2 of Deadpoint Magazine is now available at the Deadpoint Mag site.  Here are a few highlights of what is in Issue 2:
  • Interviews with Alex Puccio and Ty Landman
  • Video* of Natasha Barnes sending The Force (V9) in Yosemite, CA.
  • Article by Pete Ward about sex as it relates to climbing and advertising
  • A feature about the bouldering at the Linville Gorge

Head to the Deadpoint Mag site to check out what else is featured.

Once you have a chance to [digitally] page through it, I’m interested in hearing people’s thoughts on the first two issues.  You can read more about first issue of Deadpoint Magazine here.  I have some thoughts, but I need to re-read it again to solidify my first impression.

*The embedded videos didn’t appear to be working last night, but hopefully they will be up soon.

  1. I personally love it, I think it is the way magazines should be done, informative and interactive, easy to maneuver without pushing ads down your throat.

  2. I read the whole magazine, and i felt like the sex article was pretty vulgar. Im not saying I didnt like it because i certainly did. I think i could feel this way because most of the climbing articles you read are pretty clean cut?

Did anyone else feel this way?

  3. i agree. relieving. the jumbo love comment was HILARIOUS (particularly because I’d never even considered its significance until then).

  4. I kinda thought the first edition was ho-hum but this one I enjoyed. I like the format and embedded videos– great idea. A couple kinda naughty photos catch your attention too. You know what I’m referring to.

  5. i haven’t read it yet, but i always thought that “jumbo love” was a PC cop-out since the other major line is jumbo pumping hate…. guess “jumbo pumping love” would be too over the top?

do they mention this in the article?

  6. I like it.

I was a little on the fence after the first issue, but the fact that back issues are readily availible online ANYTIME and the thing is FREE I can hardly complain.

It was a bold idea, and I hope that they can keep it going and make it work.

Could you imagine if Climbing, Urban Climber, and Rock & Ice were someday fully availible online!?!?

If this keeps it up, it will be setting the standard in a new arena.

I give it A+ and my endorsement.

    (which admittedly means almost nothing)
