Yesterday was another beautiful and atypically pleasant summer day here in Wisconsin. Mrs. Narc and I had a good day bouldering out at Governor Dodge where we were able to do a couple more FA’s along with sampling some recent additions to the Dodge.
The pace of development at the Dodge has only increased lately with the discovery of a new area and several quality problems (both easy and hard) being cleaned and climbed each week. Spearheading much of the development is of course John Freaney who continues to claim many of the more difficult FAs. Check out this video of him climbing one of the few roofs at the Dodge. It is a problem called Illusions of Paradise (V7ish) near the Deer Cove parking area. I checked it out yesterday and despite some soft rock it looks to be a quality problem.
With cooler temps, the upcoming fall season should be one to remember. Get out there and look for some new rock! Just don’t forget to bring your brushes…
